Share Henry's love of the game by providing rounds of golf for girls and boys in his memory.

Henry Cox’s love for golf began at Happy Valley Country Club in Wilson, NC, while he was attending Atlantic Christian College (now Barton University). His passion for the game only grew over the years, and he passed that love on to his sons, Hank and Jason, and later to his granddaughter, Elizabeth, ensuring that the game remained a cherished family tradition. After a long day of work, Henry could often be found walking a few holes at Jacksonville Country Club, soaking in the peaceful moments before heading home. Upon retirement, Henry’s commitment to golf intensified, and he became a regular at Wedgewood Golf Course in Wilson, NC, where he played 4-5 times a week. He enjoyed the camaraderie of his friends in the “big stakes” matches, where the stakes were often just a nickel, dime, or quarter—but the fun and competition were priceless. For Henry, golf was not just a game; it was a lifelong love that brought him closer to family and friends, and it became a central part of his legacy.

About Youth on Course

The core purpose of Youth on Course is simple, yet transformative: provide youth with access to life-changing opportunities through golf. We make this possible by ensuring members have access to play rounds of golf for $5 or less, while also offering opportunities to succeed through college scholarships, mentorships, internships, and leadership development, all while forging lifelong connections.
